Tau Cerinthus III
Gnostic Luciferianism did not emerge in an online vacuum or as an abstract thought experiment. It represents the living culmination of over a quarter-century of hands-on initiatory lodge work, classical sacramental succession, and active community architecture under its primary developer, The Most Rev. +Jeremy Crow (Tau Cerinthus III).
Classical Initiatory Roots (1999–2006)
The system of Gnostic Luciferianism as developed by +Jeremy Crow is grounded upon a rigorous progression across classical Western esoteric streams:
- Esoteric Freemasonry (1999): Crow was initiated at age 21 into the American Federation of Human Rights (now Universal Co-Masonry), attaining the 3° of Master Mason and serving in lodge officer roles. Subsequently affiliated with the Ancient and Primitive Rite of Memphis-Misraïm (AaPRM-M), co-founding a Triangle in the Orient of Toronto utilizing the French ritual.
- Apostolic Gnostic Priesthood (1999–2003): Following a four-year period of one-on-one tutelage beginning in 1999, Crow was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on February 8, 2003, by his mentor, Bishop +Carl Emmanuel (Tau Cerinthus II), within the Gnostic Church of the Glorious Christ in Canada. This lineage descends through Archbishop +Charles Nurse of Barbados, reinforced by conditional normalizations with The Most Rev. +Stephan A. Hoeller, and the major April 6, 2002 synodal concelebration with Patriarch Ronald V. Cappello. Crow served as the primary officiant for the Toronto congregation through 2004, and is currently affiliated as a Priest with the Gnostic Union under the jurisdiction of Tau Lorenzo Nevarez. Crow has been recognized by the Gnostic Union as a Gnostic Bishop (in pectore) with the ecclesiastical name of Tau Cerinthus III, publicly commemorated September 25, 2026.
- Chivalric Knighthood (Friday, October 13, 2000): Knighted in the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem (Knights Templar) in both American and Portuguese successions by Patriarch +Ronald V. Cappello (Tau Mikaël) of the Old Templar Church. The investiture occurred during a private solemn vigil at Cappello's residence in Yonkers, New York, where Crow was dubbed alongside a circle of twelve candidates on the historic anniversary of the Templar arrests, conveying full traditional faculties to dub new Knights.
- Martinism (Early 2000s): Initiated into the Ordre Martiniste et Synarchique as an integral part of his Gnostic sacerdotal training, obtaining the III° of Supérieur Inconnu (S::I::) under the nomen Frater Lucian.
- Laboratory & Inner Alchemy (2003–2006): Mentored directly by Rubaphilos Salfluere within The Heredom Trust, receiving a direct initiatory and operational lineage descending from Frater Albertus (Paracelsus Research Society) through Pat Zalewski. Training encompassed hands-on laboratory spagyrics and mineral work alongside Western Inner Alchemy and contemplative pathworking methodologies.
- Hermetic & Thelemic Mystery Currents (Mid-2000s): Crow attained the degree of Theoricus (2=9) in the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and engaged in operational lodge roles within the Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO), serving as Toronto Body Treasurer, Black Guard during Minerval initiations, and receiving baptism in the Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica (EGC).
- Ordo Luciferi & Open-Source Initiatory Work (2006–2010): Joining the original Ordo Luciferi in 2006, Crow rose through the degrees to assume leadership of the Order, updating its curriculum and composing foundational rituals, including a Self-Initiation Rite and the Rite of Forbidden Knowledge (later refined and expanded for use in the Novus Ordo Luciferi). In 2010, Crow formally open-sourced the complete system, releasing the materials freely to the public to dismantle hierarchical gatekeeping and enable autonomous, self-directed practice.
Community Infrastructure & Public Platforms
Recognizing the need to transition the wider movement away from insular dogmatism and into open collaboration, Jeremy Crow established broad community infrastructure:
- Luciferian Research Society (Founded August 2008): Established not as a single esoteric order, but as an open, non-dogmatic community hub designed to serve individual practitioners and host discussion groups for sovereign orders worldwide, including the Order of Phosphorus, the Order of the Horned God, and the Novus Ordo Luciferi. The LRS continues to expand physically through regional community branches known as Obelisks.
- Flambeau Noir (First Produced Summer 2012): Originally produced as the International Left Hand Path Conference, this was the first public LHP-themed international conference open to the entire esoteric community rather than restricted to a single organization. It was later codified as Flambeau Noir to establish a distinguished, recurring physical gathering.
- The New Luciferian Era (Inaugurated December 21, 2012): Officially announced and ritualistically inaugurated by Crow as the beginning of Year Zero of the New Luciferian Era, marking a global turning point toward conscious self-sovereignty.
- Greater Church of Lucifer / Assembly of Light Bearers (2014–2017): Crow served as early president, bringing in Michael W. Ford and Hope-Marie Ford as equal co-presidents, overseeing rapid global expansion across more than a dozen countries, and later rebranding the project as the Assembly of Light Bearers before transitioning the project into an open-source resource.
The Genesis of Gnostic Luciferian Alchemy & NOL
Over more than two decades, curriculum developments were tested and refined across specialized working groups and initiatory vehicles, including the Ordo Luciferi under Crow's leadership, the Titanic Order of Prometheus, the Ziggurat of Enki, and early foundational texts such as the limited-edition Initiation Into the Left Hand Path.
These various streams were evolved, expanded, and fully integrated into a coherent occult discipline: Gnostic Luciferian Alchemy. This operational system unites ancient Ophite gnosis, Promethean reinterpretation of Bodhisattva ideals, Western Laboratory and Eastern Internal Alchemy, and lucid mastery of the simulation.
To serve as a sovereign mystery school for this system, the Novus Ordo Luciferi was formally founded and ritualistically inaugurated on the Winter Solstice, December 21, 2023. Operating without dogmatic submission or corporate gatekeeping, the internal architecture of the NOL is structured across two outer assemblies and four specialized inner orders:
- The Outer Order: Composed of two distinct concentric bodies: The Crystal, providing foundational instruction, philosophical orientation, and baseline self-initiation, and The Crystal Court, which governs collegiate fraternity, active service, and preparatory rites.
- The Sub-Lunary Triad: The first of the Inner Orders, dedicated exclusively to operative laboratory and internal alchemy, elemental purification, and the mastery of the subtle energetic bodies within the sphere of generation.
- The Infernal Arcana: The operative deep-zone order working with the chthonic mysteries, the Seven Metals of the Earth, and the awakening of the Seven Interior Stars aligned with the primordial currents of manifestation.
- The Knights of the Ziggurat: A sovereign Order of Chivalry operating under a solemn charter issued via the episcopal authority of Tau Cerinthus III. This order transmits legitimate chivalric knighthood rooted in the historic OSMTH dubbing received by Jeremy Crow on October 13, 2000, through Patriarch Ronald V. Cappello, uniting the sword of Templar chivalry with the Luciferian Great Work.
- The Gnostic Temple of the Morning Star: The formal ecclesiastical arm of the Novus Ordo Luciferi. Operating under lawful traditional authority as an independent autocephalous Gnostic See, it confers valid tactile minor and major orders, sacerdotal ordinations, episcopal consecrations, and traditional Gnostic theurgical sacraments to sovereign initiates.
Gnostic Episcopal Successions (Tau Cerinthus III)
As Primate of the Gnostic Temple of the Morning Star, The Most Rev. +Jeremy Crow holds valid tactile apostolic succession (tactus) connecting back through the historic 19th-century French Neo-Gnostic restoration, the Franco-Haitian and Parisian transmissions, and landmark North American ecumenical synods:
Lineage I: The French Neo-Gnostic & Caribbean Stream
Derived through the Gnostic Church of the Glorious Christ via Bishop +Carl Emmanuel (Tau Cerinthus II), who received succession from Archbishop +Charles Nurse of Barbados through the Americas and Caribbean mission of Bishop Roger Pommery, descending directly from the restoration of Jules Doinel:

Lineage II: The Gnostic Union Episcopal Succession
Conferred within the collegiate jurisdiction of the Gnostic Union through The Most Rev. Lorenzo Nevarez (Tau Lorenzo), with the official confirmation of Presiding Bishop Tau Nathan. This stream carries the transmission of The Most Rev. William "Bill" H. Thomas (Tau Basilides), who was consecrated in 1978 by Sovereign Patriarch Michael Bertiaux (Tau Ogdoade-Orfeo IV), linking directly through the Haitian and Parisian successions to Jules Doinel:
| # | Prelate | Sacramental Nomen | Succession & Office |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Jules Doinel | Tau Valentinus II | Founder & Patriarch, Église Gnostique (Restoration, 1890) |
| 2 | Léonce Fabre des Essarts | Tau Synésius | Patriarch, Église Gnostique (Consecrated July 8, 1894) |

| 9 | +Jeremy Crow | Tau Cerinthus III | Episcopal consecration within the Gnostic Union; publicly commemorated September 25, 2026 |
Lineage III: Synodal Convergences & Normalizations
In addition to direct linear descents, Bishop +Carl Emmanuel (Tau Cerinthus II) actively participated in formal North American ecumenical synods and mutual conditional consecrations (sub conditione), vesting the Canadian See with several key historic currents prior to Crow's ordination:
- English Old Catholic & Syrian-Antiochene Convergence (1991): Imparted through the 1991 College of Métropolitains Concordat via The Most Rev. +Stephan A. Hoeller (Tau Stephanus I) of the Ecclesia Gnostica, descending through Bishop Richard, Duc de Palatine (Sanctuary of the Gnosis) and Archbishop Joseph René Vilatte (consecrated May 29, 1892), fully codified on our Syrian Patriarchate of Antioch Registry.
- Chivalric Templar & Johannite Primitive Church Lines (1991): Imparted through the 1991 Concordat via Patriarch +Ronald V. Cappello (Tau Mikaël I) of the Old Templar Church, integrating the historic lines of the Order of the Temple and the Johannite succession of Bernard-Raymond Fabré-Palaprat (1810).
- EGA Synthesis & Patriarchal Confirmation (1991): Formally recognized and normalized under the constitutional guidance of French Patriarch René Chambellant (Tau Renatus) and coordinated by The Most Rev. +Robert M. Cokinis (Tau Charles Harmonius II), Primate of North America for the Église Gnostique Apostolique. This accord also reaffirmed the Carmelite Vintrasienne transmission (Eliate Church of Carmel).
- Brazilian Catholic Apostolic & Chaldean Stream (2000): Imparted through the Synod of 2000 at the Chapelle de Saint Montsalvat in Villa Park, Illinois, where Bishop Emmanuel co-constituted the Saint Collège Électoral of the EGCA, uniting lines descending from Dom Carlos Duarte Costa (ICAB, 1945).
- The Landmark Synodal Concelebration of April 6, 2002: In a crucial ecumenical synod occurring ten months prior to Crow's sacerdotal ordination, Bishop +Carl Emmanuel engaged in a mutual consecration (sub conditione) alongside Patriarch Ronald V. Cappello, Bishop Alberto I. LaCava, Bishop Osmel Valera d'Abela, and Bishop Phillip Andrew Garver (Tau Vincent II). This ceremony cross-communicated the fresh Italian Gnostic streams (Massimo Mantovani and Emanuele Coltro Guidi) and the Thelemic lines of Lon Milo DuQuette (Tau Lamed) directly into Bishop Emmanuel's Canadian See.
- Thelemic & Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica (E.G.C.) Convergence: Imparted during the April 6, 2002 synodal concelebration through Bishop Phillip Andrew Garver (Tau Vincent II), who had been consecrated sub conditione on March 10, 2001, by Lon Milo DuQuette (Tau Lamed), Archbishop and Deputy Grand Master of the Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.). This transmission incorporates both the constitutional charter lineage of the E.G.C. (Theodor Reuss 1908, Aleister Crowley 1912/1923, Grady McMurtry 1969, and William Breeze 1985) and the tactile Gnostic lines transmitted to the O.T.O. Sovereign Sanctuary through Bishop Jack Hogg (descending from the French Doinel restoration). This current flowed into Bishop +Carl Emmanuel and was subsequently conveyed to Jeremy Crow during his February 8, 2003 sacerdotal ordination.
Through Bishop Emmanuel's subsequent imposition of hands during Crow's sacerdotal ordination on February 8, 2003, all of these historical streams converged into the sacerdotal authority of Tau Cerinthus III, which now serves as the canonical foundation for the Gnostic Temple of the Morning Star.
